Summer Camp: The Creative Musician (Ages 13-18)

Songwriting & music production skills for teens. Applicants must have at least one year of experience playing any instrument. Students will learn the basics of songwriting, how to use common home recording equipment to record a finished song and how to successfully collaborate with other peer musicians. Students must bring their own instrument of choice to camp each day.

NOTE: Camp attendance is limited to the first 10 applicants. A minimum requirement of 5 students must sign up or camp will be canceled.

Meet the Instructor: Eric Moran

Eric Moran began learning to play guitar at age eleven from his father, who was also a guitarist. By middle school, he was playing gigs with a jazz band. In high school, he performed with various bands and played at local restaurants with his father. He studied under instructors like Jim Boitnott, Kyle Welch, John Firesheets, and Mark Mazzatenta, covering styles from jazz to metal. He also apprenticed as a guitar and amp technician with Philip Poteat of Tone Technologies.

After high school, he attended UNCG, earning a Bachelor's in Business Marketing while immersing himself in music theory classes. He played in bands such as Slinky Face and The Julian Sizemore Band, recording albums and performing extensively over ten years. He built a home recording studio, providing session work for local artists and producing music for film and TV, with compositions featured on Netflix, PBS & Amazon TV.

In 2023, he released a self-titled album on Spotify & iTunes. The same year he also formed a band called The Get Go with local drum teacher Aaron Rodriguez, debuting on FOX 8 Morning News in early 2024. You can visit their website at www.TheGetGoBand.com.
