For developing readers working to build their phonics skills and confidence (recommended for students of any age with a reading level of 2nd grade and below): -Get ready to dive into a new book each week as we go on a summer reading adventure! -Each week will feature a new book that will sharpen our reading skills with fun phonics games, comprehension activities, and arts & crafts that correlate to our chosen book! For readers who are ready to develop an appreciation for comprehension and the author's craft (recommended for students of any age with a reading level of 3rd grade and up): - Inspired by book clubs, we will read and discuss fascinating stories, play games, and arts and crafts that connect to the literacy skills we explore. - Students get to pick from a selection of award-winning titles such as Goosebumps, Esperanza Rising, and I Survived! Avoid the summer slide and have FUN working on reading skills while developing a love of reading! Led by experienced reading teachers and reading specialists! ------------------------------ Interested in developing writing skills too? Team Arboro on Tuesdays might be a better fit! All the fun of Book Club, plus fun writing activities such as learning cursive through joke writing and a chance to craft blog posts and creative stories that may actually get published! Team Arboro Tuesdays is called Page Turners and runs from 12:30-2:00 all summer! Learn more in the tab called 'Group Classes.'
